Anthony Choe is the founder of Provenance, a growth-stage investment firm focused on omnichannel brands. The firm works with high growth brands such as Knot Standard and Marine Layer. Prior to founding Provenance, Choe was a partner at Brentwood Associates, a leading middle-market private equity firm. There, he led the firm to focus on omnichannel brand investments and invested more than $400 million and returned $1.4 billion to investors, with no losses on new platform investments since 1999. He began his career as an analyst at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in New York, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions, high-yield financings, and leveraged buyouts.
During his 22 years as a private equity investor, Choe has served as a thought leader in assessing the roles of information, data and technology and their impact on direct-to-consumer brands. In addition to his investing activities, Choe serves as a guest lecturer on private investing at the UCLA Anderson School of Management and is a member of YPO, the premier global leadership organization of chief executives. He also serves as a board member and treasurer of CoachArt, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization that creates a transformative arts and athletics community for families impacted by childhood chronic illness.
Choe holds a BA in economics, magna cum laude, from Harvard College, where he was elected a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
